Andalusia

Located in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, Andalusia presents all the habitats described in it thanks to the combination of orography and climate, which ultimately means that much of the territory is under different categories of environmental protection, making Andalusia the region with the largest variety of birds –464 species described-, and the one with the highest biodiversity in Europe, thus becoming a favorite destination for birds and nature lovers, both in Spain

And most of all that biodiversity treasure is located in the province of Seville, from which we below describe some of its areas.

Sierra Norte of Seville Natural Park

The best preserved mediterranean forest in the province of Seville, a Paradise of biodiversity where the big raptors and the mediterranean passerines are the most representative species.

La Campiña

The region of La Campiña, with its infinite plains and environmental protection figures that value its importance, houses rainfed habitats and endorheic lagoons becoming one of the best areas in Andalusia for the observation of steppe birds.

Doñana Natural Park

Doñana, one of the most important natural reserves of Europe, begins in the province of Seville. The hábitats present confer a wealth diversity of birds throught the year, and close to Seville.

Doñana, the Realm of Iberian Lynx

The Mediterranean forest in the Doñana Natural Park is the place where the most endangered feline in the world, the Iberian Lynx, lives. The present population allows us to try to observe it both at key moments of its biological cycle, as well as in other quieter moments.

Brazo del Este

A few kilometers from Seville, the old course of the Guadalquivir River is currently a place where the wealth of birds it makes could be compared, on a small scale, with Doñana.
